Helping them see Christ in their life

“God will use you to make the lives of others better.”

This week was kinda crazy.  It started out with Exchanges with my Zone Leader elder Nyman who is so cool and has been on the mission for 21 months.  He had long hair before the mission, so we both reminisced about the times we had nice long hair.  We saw so many miracles that day, we found 4 people just in that one day, and handed out  7 book of Mormons. We also had 6 lessons that day. It was insanely busy and super fun to see the success.  The next day I had interviews with president. It's our last time having interviews with him sadly... but also super excited for the next mission president. Once again we had a super successful week with lots of progress and lots of new people. We taught the family we found 2 weeks ago again this Sunday. They have been telling their friends about us and how cool we are.  They have handed out 2 Book of Mormons and they aren't even members. This Saturday was all miracles We helped multiple people put with service.  We got to sludge hammer some cement and take out a deck. We also helped some people move.  But the biggest miracle was at night.  We didn't know exactly what to do after dinner because we had 2 lessons cancel, so we went to this outdoor mall and as we were sitting eating some Popeyes, a bunch of Hispanics pulled up and started playing soccer on this massive grass area it was so cool because the Lord knew where I needed to be.  I talked with them for a while and then we played for 40 minutes.  Now they are going to invite us every Saturday! They said we can share a message with them which is amazing.  My half spanish came in clutch. I think the Lord is telling me I need to use my language and study better! The last miracle I have is my boy Wisdom. I was texting tons of people on Facebook, and Wisdom started texting asking me if I wanted to buy some bags from him I laughed and said no I don't want any bags I'm just going around sharing messages about Jesus Christ.  The next thing I know he called me on Facebook and said that he has been scamming people online to make money but wants to change and stop hurting other people. He gave me his number and we've been going over the lessons and he's completely changed. He's from Nigeria so I contacted the elders that live by him and they said they are now going to be visiting with him.  It was such a cool experience to see how someone can change so quickly just by helping them see Christ in their life.

GOD IS PREPARING THESE PEOPLE

“The Lord has a plan for you, He has prepared for you this day, right now, to be a strength and force for good in His mighty work."

Yes I went to another stake conference... it was good but also really long. I got to see so many old friends from St Joseph which was fun. This week was successful. We found over 7 people which is higher than all of our finds combined before this week, and we found the best family ever. It was probably one of the craziest miracles ever. We were walking down the street and a lady yelled at us and asked us to come over, so we went over and started talking to her, she said she is proud of us and wants to learn more. The whole family was so excited for us to come over on Sunday afternoon.  We gave them 3 Nephi 11 to reach and they wrote down questions that they had.  It was so cool to see their faces when we answered the question. They lit up like crazy and you could see it click in their head. They had us over for a little lunch.  It was the coolest thing to see how God is preparing these people and putting us in their path. We also found a couple of people through lots of calls and contacting. The other highlight this week was the youth night. We went Frisbee golfing with them and it made me feel back at home. Everyone was having a blast, and of course I won (thanks to Grant Ivins) such a great teacher. The youth had a blast and were actually super happy we came. We're going to do a challenge with them in 2 weeks and it's going to be so fun. We had stake conference this Sunday. Saturday we got to serve so many people and basically did three separate services. One of them was cleaning a car engine and it was really fun. Super successful week, and I got to speak some español this week.  I might be teaching him a lesson next week...

MEMBER LESSONS

"When you do your part the Lord adds His power to

your efforts ."   Henry B Eyring

The moral of this week was getting members involved. And yes it is finally working. We had multiple meeting and councils with the members, and have been doing 3 member lessons a week, we also have helped multiple members with service, and I think it's finally starting to get their trust. This week we had a couple lessons and finally got someone to church.  He really liked it so hopefully he comes next week as well. His name is Mike and he has been through it all, think of it and he's been through it. He loves us coming over and teaching him, the only thing that he doesn't love is that there's only one way to God and it's through his church. He was baptized and thinks that because he felt it in his heart it counts. We are going to work really hard on that next week.  We had zone conference this week it was so much fun to see a bunch of old mission friends. They talked about member work like crazy and it was good.  This week was a lot better than last week.  We also got to play basketball with the youth which was so fun!

IM EXCITED TO SEE ALL THE MIRACLES

"God rarely moves the mountains in front of us, but He always helps us climb them."

I went to Raisin Canes three days in a row this week. I only had to pay for it 1 time, the rest of the time we got it for dinner with the members. This week was super hard but lots of progress. We didn't see the success we were looking for. It  hard to have nobody come to church, only find 1 person, and to be finding all day everyday. But all that means is that the next week is going to be better! It's already looking much better and we haven't even started the week yet. We have multiple lesson with new people, and two of them said they want to come to church. We also have 2 other people that got Covid this week that are feeling better and set up a couple times to come over.   I'm excited to see all the miracles God will present to us next week.  There were a couple miracles this week even without a lot of success... we did 10 hours of service and 5 hours of it was with non-memebers.  Multiple people asked us why we are the way we are.  It was fun to help people and keep staying busy all week.

TIFFANY SPRINGS

“Don’t be content to do the easy thing.   Look for opportunities to stretch farther than you think you can."

Ahhh such a sad week. So many memories and miracles in St Joseph! I will never forgot all the good times I had there. But on comes the next challenge.  Sadly this challenge will not be in spanish. I'm now in an English area with about 200 active members which is crazy since we had about 60 members total in the spanish branch. This week was really sad saying goodbye to all the people I've been teaching for so long. A couple of them I have planned to go to the temple next month so hopefully I can reunite with some of them.  I had my last soccer night which was fun.  But also really sad, we did go to the Arroyo's after and eat some pizza. They were super sad I was leaving and told me to come back and play them in fifa.  This branch has felt like family and it was sad to go. But this new area has already been a blast. We've gotten to know a ton of members and did 10 hours of service in the last 3 days! It's like a dream come true.  The area I'm in is Tiffany Springs, and there's literally every restaurant you could think of here. And a canes literally right down the street... the area is half boons and half city. So that's kinda fun. This area is only 40 minutes away from St joseph, oír border actually meets the St Joseph elders so that's kinda funny. I'm in the same zone. I got a new comp who's been out for about 3 months, and his name is Elder Fleming. He's super cool, he's from Denver Colorado, finally someone not from Utah hahaha. Super excited to do more service and actually have member dinners with our members.  This area is a little more nice and rich, but it also has a ton of apartment complexes. Our house is so nice, and we have our own grill and everything. We also have a gym we can go to.  That'll be super nice to actually work out with weights. Still sad I didn't get called spanish speaking, but it's because they closed 2 spanish areas right now, until we get the next flood of missionaries.
