POWER OF GOD CONTINUE TO WORK

"I  promise that as you serve, you will feel the love of the Lord in your life.  You will know HIM."              Ronald A. Rasband

This week was a whole lot of sitting and thinking. My companion was in bed for 3 days, and then on Saturday night he got the hiccups and couldn't stop it for 8 hours! So we're in the ER trying to hopefully stop the hiccups. It's not been a fun week for him, I guess I can write a longer email this week because I have some time to write it before pday starts.  I don't really know what to talk about because most of the week I've been sitting inside trying to find things to do. The first day I read the scriptures for like 5 hours which was nice to be able to read more than usual. Then the second day I had some other Elders come and switch me out for a couple hours so that we could go get a new washer because our washer broke that was a nice break out of the house.  The 3rd day I spent 7 hours cleaning the house even my mom would approve of this cleaning I filled the entire black trash bin with crap from past missionaries. Then I completely reorganized the house and mopped all the floors, then vacuuming and spraying fabric cleaner everywhere the last thing I did was clean the bathroom. So that was for sure the most satisfying day. I also cut my own hair because I had nothing else to do and I wanted it super short for zone confrence next week! I think for the most part I did alright probably better than any other Elder doing my hair... other than that I don't even know what we did this week hahaha. I was able to give another blessing which was super powerful the Lord new exactly what to say and put specific scriptures into my head, it was super cool to see the power of God continue to work through me. Next week we have 4 days with straight meetings!  Our friend David came to church we couldn't be there but that was super awesome. He's been on bed rest for a year now and has finally been able to get into an automatic chair.

  18 MONTH MARK

"Often when you think you're at the end of something, you're at the beginning of something else."

This week was wild. First 3 days we got to be in our area and we found a bunch of new people which was nice. We had to do service for 5 hours I love service so much but raking leaves is not that fun especially when one of the rakes you have is broken... but we bagged like 30 bags full of leaves and the lady was super happy and grateful. After those 3 days we had transfers. This transfer was wild because all the sisters that I came out with went home this transfer! It was a little sad having to drop them all off and then getting back in the car and knowing I still had 6 more months... but then we picked up all the new missionaries and it was so much fun. Me and Elder Lowder are doing another transfer together so that'll be fun. This week I hit 18 months which is actually insane.  Luckily we stay super busy so I don't think about it too much... yesterday at church we had to teach gospel essentials and the stake president came into our class and we didn't even prepare anything, but there's 2 members that never stop talking if you ask them a question so they took half the time which was nice.  We also had a crazy experience in church, there was a drunk guy that came to church and had to be escorted out because he was yelling at the ceiling, then I was sitting by some of our friends and one of the sister missionaries spoke and after she turned to me and asked if she could clap and I was like yeah go for it, so she starting clapping and chearing for one of the missionaries. It was actually hilarious, I love when friends come to church. Last night we had a devotional and it was by a guy that is an undercover cop he talked about how the Holy ghost would help him now if he was going to die or not. So he wouldn't show up or have to change the plans.  He showed a video of him doing a drug bust and how he caught all these dudes who were smuggling hard drugs into the US. It was extremely intertaining and honestly I might want to do that as a job.

 CRAZY POWERFUL

“Faith is not hoping God can, it is knowing He will."

Well the city was basically on fire last night and there were about 1000000 gunshots. I think they like the superbowl more than Christmas. The entire city just shuts down Gas stations weren't even open. Andy Reid is helping everyone keep the sabbeth day holy by getting into the superbowl. I think I saw 2 cars on the road while the game was going, and we drove for like 10 minutes. Then everyone goes outside with their flags and guns and goes crazy. All the sirens are going off, and fireworks.  Now I can convince people to come to church because Andy Reid would want them to go, and you never know if he'll be at the church when you come hahaha. The parade is on Wednesday I might have to just go check out downtown KC because there will be thousands of people it's crazy how the 2 years I lived in Kansas City the chiefs won the superbowl, i must be good luck or something.  Other than that we had to drop off and pick up so many missionaries this week. So much fun waking up at 3:30am going to the airport, and then still waking up at 6:30 the next morning.  We also had so much transfer stuff this week.  We were in the office a lot this week which is not my favorite but it was still good. Last night me and my companion were able to give a couple priesthood blessings to some missionaries, and it was crazy Powerful. It made me realize how real the priesthood is, and how lucky we're to be able to perform priesthood blessing! It was cool to see how God put things in our mind exactly at that time for that exact person! We also put one of our friends named Wayne on Date. He's so ready for baptism and has gone through so much to get to this point. So please pray for him he's quitting smoking on Thursday and will need all the help he can get!!

THE TEMPLE IS THE BEST PLACE

"The Lord has more in mind for you than you have for yourself. You have been reserved and preserved for this time and place. You can do hard things."

Last week our p-day moved to Thursday, but we got to go to the temple and do an endowment session which was amazing. The temple is the best place ever, then we went and for sushi at this hidden place that you went up 2 stair cases and had to go through 3 doors just to find the place, it was in KC.  Last week I was able to go back up to St Joseph where I was for my first 6 months, it was so much fun and I was able to see a bunch of old friends. Last week a bunch of the elders slept over at presidents for a meeting, and in the morning we played 4v4 in basketball. Our president was laughing because he knew exactly why we all wanted to sleepover the night before but he said he would've done the same thing. We had a leadership meeting later that day. We have transfers in one week it's actually insane.
