THE LORD PLACED THEM IN OUR PATH

“Unbelief blocks our ability to see miracles, whereas a mindset of faith in the savior unlocks the powers of heaven.”    Elder Larry S. Kacher

This week was kinda crazy started out strong with another exchange with Elder Mortensen we went crazy all day and put 2 more people on Date. It was a crazy fun day and we found 4 other people as well. Wednesday we had another Exchange but I left the area this time and went with our District leader elder Yellverton. We made a bet with some sister missionaries that we could find more than them in that day, and so we prayed all day that we would find a family. We skipped our dinner and just kept grinding, we found 4 people but we were still wanting to find a family. We pulled up to the 2nd to last visit we had in and we saw this family outside and found 6 people. It was crazy how the Lord placed them in our path.  We found 12 people in that 1 day and smoked the sisters so now they have to do the ice-bucket challenge today. For sure the highlight of my week. Then we had the middle of the week which was not so good... I got sooo sick! I woke up Thursday morning at 1:00 throwing-up and couldn't go back to sleep until I finally went to the doctors at 10 and got this crazy medicine that knocked me out for like 12 hours. It was awesome because I was able to sleep and wasn't in anymore pain thankfully but we didn't get to do any missionary work because I was dead asleep.  Friday morning I was back at it thankfully, then Saturday we had another exchange with Elder McDonald in Andy Reid's ward, but sadly didn't get to see him. But we went to a baptism which was fun. We also got dinner with our President and Sister Sommerfeldt. Sunday was a little sad... we didn't have the family that we've been teaching show up to church, but they will come next week, keep praying for Dion, Shane, and Johairis!!

SHE KNOWS GOD SENT US

“Faith is a strong conviction about something we believe - A conviction so strong that it moves us to do things we otherwise might not do.”  - Elder Dieter Uchtdorf

This week was a ton of work!! We were busy the entire week trying to find new people to teach. We had 2 solid people for baptism that got cold feet and dropped us because they didn't feel worthy. It's crazy how hard Satan tries when someone gets close to baptism.  So please pray for Judith and David Hunt. They are both feeling a little down on themselves and said they don't feel ready when they 100% are ready But we're going to keep trying and hopefully God can use us to reassure them that they are ready for baptism!

This weekend was all miracles though, we got to do 2 Exchanges which was so much fun.  The first one was with one of my favorite missionaries Elder Marble.  We went crazy all day and found 10 new people to teach putting a family on soft baptismal date.  We also had the coolest experience with this lady named D'moni. As Marble and I were knocking some doors we saw this lady sitting alone on her door steps, so we approached her and asked if she wanted to hear a scripture, she said yes and had us come close so she could hear us better. We shared a scripture about the atonement and told her God is aware of her and she started freaking out because earlier that day she prayed and asked God to help her get on the right path and to show her the direction she needs to go and we randomly showed up. She was so thankful and could not believe that we were sent by God.  It was insane! Her family tried to tell her that the Mormons didn't believe in christ and that we were a cult, but she told us that she told them all to shut-up and that they didn't know what they were talking about she then said that she knows God sent us and that her family couldn't convince her otherwise. It was pretty insane.  Then we went to this cute family late at night and they loved everything we were saying. We knocked the wrong door and they were so prepared for us to come and teach them.  They were so excited to read the Book of mormon and said that they can't wait to hear about the Plan of Salvation. So please pray for Shane, Johairis, and their family they're such a cute family.

Then we exchanged with another companionship on Saturday.  I went with Elder Walker who is a little younger in the mission and he was so excited to teach a bunch of lessons and to our surprise all 8 lessons that day didn't go through... buttt we were knocking the last door of the night and we met a lady named Martina. She spoke a little English but understood Spanish a lot better. She was so awesome and had family members from our church. We taught the restoration and as we were telling about Joseph Smiths Experience I was able to say the fist vision in spanish and she turned to her family member and said she wanted to get BAPTIZED!! We put her on date for May 18th and she came to church on Sunday as well. It was actually pretty insane we passed her off to the spanish Elders but it was so cool to see how the spirit hit her so much when the first vision was said.  We also found another cute family that really wants and needs a church because they recently had a kid and want good influences around them.  They read 5 chapters of the book of mormon already and are so excited to come to church next week.

My family made fun of me because I didn't space out my emails so it only took me 20 months to learn that you can't just write a massive paragraph...

Pray for: David Hunt, Shane, Johairis, and their family, Cody, Mallory, D'moni, Stephen, Dion, Judith, Martina, and Jordan

THE BEST FEELING EVER

"Kick off world influences and trust the spirit."

This week was fun of meetings.  We had zone conference this week with all the missionaries it was good to see all my friends and also see all the new missionaries again. There were tons of Departing Testimonies from a lot of my close mission friends, next zone conference we have an area 70 coming and he's going to do the trainings. Other than zone conference we had an awesome weekend with a baptism on Saturday.  Our boy James Scott got baptized and received the Holy Ghost which is the best feeling ever. He had to be baptized 7 times because he wouldn't get under the water, but the 7th time he got all the way under.

 PEOPLE ON DATE

"God accomplishes His miracles one prayer at a time, one person at a time"

Hello everyone this week was a good one these last 2 days felt like a little vacation because we got to sit and watch conference.  Conference was super awesome and talked all about temples which is sad because as missionaries we can only go once every 6 months, but once I get home I can go whenever I want. This week we put a couple more people on date our boys Stephen, Dion, and Sébastien.  They are all  excited for baptism. James Scott also passed his baptismal interview this week and is getting baptized this Saturday.  So many blessings and miracles these last couple weeks. Saturday we were able to watch general conference with the youth and then went and got some BBQ it was pretty fire. This week was a pretty normal week nothing crazy happened next week we have some conference which will be fun but also long.

GOD PLACED US RIGHT IN HIS PATH

"As we follow the Savior, He blesses us with gifts, talents, and the strength to do His will, allowing us to go beyond our comfort zones and do things we've never before thought possible."

This week was something else we were up in Liberty every day except for Wednesday. Started off the week with some basketball Tuesday morning with a bunch of elders, then we had MLC that day with zone leaders and STLs and that was pretty fun. Most of the leaders that I'm close with left leadership this transfer. It's crazy how different the mission is from when I first came to now. Wednesday we got to work in our area and do a bunch of transfer stuff. Thursday we had Transfers and everyone got their new companion and area then we drove all the missionaries that were leaving, up to far-west and Adam-ondi-Ahman. Where we had a cool testimony meeting in ADAM-ONDI-AHMAN. Then we went back home had a fancy dinner and stayed up so late talking to some of the missionaries leaving because they were my best friends and they were leaving the mission Friday morning .  We picked up all the new missionaries which was a blast and went to the temple and Liberty Jail, and explained what the mission was going to be like and they were so excited.  I love seeing all the new missionaries and how excited they are. Saturday they got their trainers and then worked the rest of the day in our area we had a crazy miracle.  I was teaching this kid about 7 months ago who's name was Izzy.  He changed his entire life and started coming to church each week and his week we found his brother out of nowhere. God placed us right in his path.  His brothers name is Hyrum and he has the cutest family that he wants to start activating.  They were so excited that I knew Izzy and instantly let us into their house and wanted us to teach them.  It was the coolest thing ever. That family has been one of many that God wanted me to influence. The odds of us running into him was like a 0.5 percent chance, but God knew that I needed to be in their life.  Crazy how many miracles you see as a missionary.  Sunday we had an insane sacrament meeting we had a bunch of Samoans sing and it was insane. Then one of our friends that we are teaching sang and her voice was amazing!  We had a couple more musical numbers and 2 talks. We had 10 friends of ours come to church which was awesome.   David went and looked at the baptismal fount and is excited to get baptized this month.  I also had the opportunity to teach a lesson in Spanish. We found a family of 6 that spoke Spanish and they were all so nice.  It was hard without a companion and 7 months away from spanish but they were nice and understood most of it haha.
