THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THAT CAN BRING YOU MORE PEACE THAN THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GOSPEL AND THE BLUE BOOK

"What we love determines what we seek, what we seek determines what we think and do, what we think and do determines what we become."      -Uchtdorf

This was week was actually insane! Started out with the royals game on Tuesday. Seeing everyone in the mission there was actually so cool. We drove the party busses there and back. We got to sing on the field so that was a plus as well.  We sadly left before the game ended but I didn't care too much because baseball is boring. After that it was my last day with Elder Naylor. Transfers were on Thursday and so I got my new comp and it's going to be a blast. His name is Faumuina and he's from Hawaii. I did have to say goodbye to lots of friends which was pretty sad 27 missionaries left this week.  After transfers we finally got to work and man we had an insane week.  We found 9 People in 2 days and had lessons all day.  It was so nice to see how much work we did these past couple days. Super super sad news that we recieve this week, the 3 most progressing People we were teaching moved to Indianapolis on Thursday... it was super hard news to hear because we were going to put them on date this week. The other sad news was that their friend died while working with them and he was 27 years old. It was all over the news, actually can't believe it, we even taught him a couple times. All his friends were asking for help and wondering what would help them calm down,  and the only thing I could think of was the Book of Mormon. There's nothing else that can bring you more peace than the knowledge of the gospel and that blue book! This Sunday was hard because all the people that were going to church moved... but we still had 1 person named Alex come to church. And a member brought a friend so that was cool. Last thing I got my ingrown toenail removed this week... Man it was pretty narly. Poked 4 needles in my toe and numbed it up, and the next thing you know he was slicing my toe open! I was watching the whole thing... it was actually crazy. Then a day after I played soccer so it was all good.  I'm so so excited for this transfer it's going to be fun.

INSANE STORMS

"We can literally change the world- one person and one interaction at a time."  Russell M. Nelson

This week went really fast and honestly not a lot  happened butt it was a good week! First we had 7/11 day and all I remember is getting a slushee and there were about 50 people in that one store it was insane. Then we had some of the most insane storms! The first one was on Friday and If you've never seen horizontal rain before it's honestly kinda trippy, you don't realize what's actually happening... there were up to 80 mile per hour winds with it dumping rain!  Of course we were in this tiny Mexican restaurant when all the power and lights went off they were all like I can't cook anymore, it was pretty funny. Then we had another pretty crazy storm on Sunday, with so much rain it was insane. The craziest thing we saw during the storm was a tramp in the middle of the road... dont ask me how it got there. This week we saw who was getting transferred, and my comp is leaving. So this week on Thursday I'll be getting a new comp.  I'm excited to see who it is.  We got 2 people to church again which was pretty awesome. They came 2 weeks in a row and asked me when they can go to the temple and how they can get there!  This Saturday we did service for almost 3 hours and it was literally so amazing then he took us to McDonald's so that's a plus haha. Next week is going to be insane.

The Lord was blessing us so much

 this week

"True disciples of Jesus Christ are willing to stand up, speak up, and be different from the people of the world."        -Russell M. Nelson

The time has finally come.  To start off the week we had the 4th of July and for those that don't know the latino community they go crazy on the fireworks. This city was on fire it was insane.  I've never heard and seen so many fireworks and this was during the day time... It also was pretty sketchy because people were driving around in cars throwing these mini Bombs (massive firecrackers) out their window and it would make the loudest sounds ever. I just wish we could have those in Utah.  We had to be home early that night... which was kinds lame, but we started a nice fire and cooked some hot dogs. It was a little tricky because we didn't have a lighter so we had to get creative and use the inside stove to light a piece of paper and run outside and throw it into the fire. It was a skill if you ask me.  Other than the 4th of July we found this amazing family named Wenceslao and they loved having us come over. We literally taught them 3 times this week and it was all from stopping the car in the middle of the street and yelling at them to come over... we were desperate at that point, because 3 lessons canceled.  The Lord has a plan. If he taught me one thing this transfer it was to have patience and be ok with God's timing. This family also came to church which was the biggest miracle ever. Ok  one of the best things that happened this week was meeting our new mission president and sister Sommerfeldt.  They are super super cool, and honestly I think it's going to be a really good change.  I'm super excited to see what happens.  He's a lot more traditional  talking to people face to face.  Sister Sommerfeldt was so awesome. She was so excited and somehow knew me... so that was a plus. She grew up in Holladay, but sadly went to Olympus... but she is actually so nice and we got to talk to her for like an hour while president was doing interviews individually. I'm super excited to see what happens.  It's going to be so good. This weekend we got to do baptisms for the dead with the ward which was so awesome.  Final thing, Church. Yes we finally got people to church.  Not only did we get that family but we got another part member family to come, and thus random guy from English class.  It was the greatest thing ever.  It finally felt like all the work we did was paying off.  The Lord was blessing us so much this week. We had about 7 people at church this week, but 2 of them were members that haven't been in a long time! So it was a crazy Sunday.  It was super stressful but also super fun to run around and make sure our friends felt comfortable.  That's about all I got for this week!

THE HOLY GHOST IS REAL

"Do not underestimate the potential you have to influence others for good. Both by the service of your actions and by the service of your example."

This week was kinda crazy! We met our new president on Thursday, and are going to meet him in person this week.  The new mission president is super cool.  I'm actually super excited to get to know him more. He loves BYU so that's pretty dope. We found a lot of people this week once again and they sadly didn't come to church once again... it was really depressing. But we did find a family and already had 3 lessons with them! They are a family of 3 and they are from Guatemala and moved here 1 month ago.  I just want to say Guatemalans are the nicest and most receptive to the gospel.  We put the parents on Date for the 29th of July so please pray for them. There names are KATY, DARWIN, AND MEDELY They have a 7 year old kid that loves us so much and she makes sure her family reads the book of mormon it's so funny. Then we gave her a children's book and she was like so happy and was showing her parents all the pictures. Kids are so much better than adults. They are for sure the closest to God.  We started up soccer night and it was of course a success. I'm so glad I got called spanish speaking sometimes just so that I get to play soccer. It's seriously a blast and everyone loves it. We had tons of members come and 4 investigators. They all said they would come next week and we told them that they are always invited to church.  They said they want to come but they have the weekend off so probably not hahaha. Next week though we'll get them to church. Tons of members were talking about how fun it was and now half the ward is going to come.  I was kinda bad at taking pictures this week but I had one more amazing experience.  It was on Exchanges with one of my Zone Leaders and we taught the restoration and gave the first vision we asked him how he felt when we said it and he was in shock. He said there's something in air, he said it feels dense because of how powerful it was. The Holy Ghost is so real and he's literally constantly with us. My favorite part about teaching the first lesson is 100% the first vision. It's so unique and insanely powerful!
