SHE KNOWS GOD SENT US
“Faith is a strong conviction about something we believe - A conviction so strong that it moves us to do things we otherwise might not do.” - Elder Dieter Uchtdorf
This week was a ton of work!! We were busy the entire week trying to find new people to teach. We had 2 solid people for baptism that got cold feet and dropped us because they didn't feel worthy. It's crazy how hard Satan tries when someone gets close to baptism. So please pray for Judith and David Hunt. They are both feeling a little down on themselves and said they don't feel ready when they 100% are ready But we're going to keep trying and hopefully God can use us to reassure them that they are ready for baptism!
This weekend was all miracles though, we got to do 2 Exchanges which was so much fun. The first one was with one of my favorite missionaries Elder Marble. We went crazy all day and found 10 new people to teach putting a family on soft baptismal date. We also had the coolest experience with this lady named D'moni. As Marble and I were knocking some doors we saw this lady sitting alone on her door steps, so we approached her and asked if she wanted to hear a scripture, she said yes and had us come close so she could hear us better. We shared a scripture about the atonement and told her God is aware of her and she started freaking out because earlier that day she prayed and asked God to help her get on the right path and to show her the direction she needs to go and we randomly showed up. She was so thankful and could not believe that we were sent by God. It was insane! Her family tried to tell her that the Mormons didn't believe in christ and that we were a cult, but she told us that she told them all to shut-up and that they didn't know what they were talking about she then said that she knows God sent us and that her family couldn't convince her otherwise. It was pretty insane. Then we went to this cute family late at night and they loved everything we were saying. We knocked the wrong door and they were so prepared for us to come and teach them. They were so excited to read the Book of mormon and said that they can't wait to hear about the Plan of Salvation. So please pray for Shane, Johairis, and their family they're such a cute family.
Then we exchanged with another companionship on Saturday. I went with Elder Walker who is a little younger in the mission and he was so excited to teach a bunch of lessons and to our surprise all 8 lessons that day didn't go through... buttt we were knocking the last door of the night and we met a lady named Martina. She spoke a little English but understood Spanish a lot better. She was so awesome and had family members from our church. We taught the restoration and as we were telling about Joseph Smiths Experience I was able to say the fist vision in spanish and she turned to her family member and said she wanted to get BAPTIZED!! We put her on date for May 18th and she came to church on Sunday as well. It was actually pretty insane we passed her off to the spanish Elders but it was so cool to see how the spirit hit her so much when the first vision was said. We also found another cute family that really wants and needs a church because they recently had a kid and want good influences around them. They read 5 chapters of the book of mormon already and are so excited to come to church next week.
My family made fun of me because I didn't space out my emails so it only took me 20 months to learn that you can't just write a massive paragraph...
Pray for: David Hunt, Shane, Johairis, and their family, Cody, Mallory, D'moni, Stephen, Dion, Judith, Martina, and Jordan
